Planning a wedding comes with questions — here’s everything you need to know about my documentary wedding photography approach in Hawai‘i and beyond

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Hawai‘i?

Wedding photography pricing in Hawai‘i varies based on coverage length, experience, and approach. My wedding collections begin at $5,000, with most couples investing between $6,000–$8,000 depending on their needs.

This investment reflects a documentary approach that prioritizes presence, thoughtful preparation, and full-day storytelling rather than staged or overly directed imagery.

How many photos will we receive from our wedding?

Because I photograph weddings in a documentary style, the number of images varies depending on the length of coverage, guest count, and how your day unfolds. On average, couples receive approximately 75–100 images per hour of coverage.

My focus is on delivering a complete, thoughtfully edited story of your wedding day — not a specific number of images. Every photo you receive is carefully selected and hand-edited to reflect the moments that mattered most.

Do you have experience photographing weddings?

Yes! I’ve been photographing weddings since 2020 and have documented over 100 weddings across Hawai‘i and destination locations.

This experience allows me to anticipate real moments, work calmly under any circumstance, and capture your day with confidence and presence.

Is your wedding photography style candid or posed?

My approach is primarily documentary wedding photography.

I focus on capturing real moments as they unfold, with minimal interruption or direction. I offer gentle guidance when helpful — particularly during portraits — but I do not rely on heavy posing or staged recreations.

The goal is imagery that feels natural, emotional, and true to the experience of the day.

We’re awkward in front of the camera — is documentary photography right for us?

Yes — most of my couples feel this way.

Because my approach is observational, you’re never expected to know how to pose or perform. You’re encouraged simply to be present with one another while I document what naturally happens.

How long does it take to get wedding photos back?

Wedding galleries are delivered within 8-10 weeks.

Each image is individually reviewed and hand-edited to ensure a cohesive, timeless collection that reflects the full story of your day. Quality and consistency are prioritized over speed.

Do you offer wedding videography?

I focus primarily on documentary wedding photography, but I do offer short highlight video reels as an add-on to your photography collection. These 3–4 minute reels capture authentic, in-the-moment clips from your day — no staged shots, no microphone setup, and no recording of vows or speeches. It’s perfect for couples who want to relive the energy and emotion of their day in motion, without hiring a full videography team.

If you’d like a highlight reel included in your package, let me know when booking so I can plan your day accordingly.

Do you work with a second photographer?

Second photographer coverage is available depending on your collection and the scope of your wedding day.

I’ll guide you on whether a second photographer is beneficial based on guest count, timeline, and coverage priorities.

How do we know if we’re the right fit?

My work is best suited for couples who value:

real moments over posed ones

presence over performance

trust over micromanagement

If you’re drawn to honest, documentary wedding photography and want to experience your day without constant direction, we’re likely a great fit.

How do we book our wedding date?

To reserve your date, a signed contract and retainer are required. I accept a limited number of weddings each year to ensure a calm, attentive experience for every couple.

Full collection details and availability are shared upon inquiry.

If this approach feels right, I’d love to document your day.
